Felipe Drugovich dominates F2 Jeddah feature race to take championship lead
Felipe Drugovich has taken the lead of the Formula 2 drivers' standings after dominating the feature race in Saudi Arabia.
Starting from pole position, Drugovich maintained his lead into Turn 1 ahead of Richard Verschoor and Marcus Armstrong, who overtook Ralph Boschung.
The Brazilian controlled the race from the front with the top seven starting on the softs.
Prema's Dennis Hauger was the highest medium tyre running, circulating in eighth after the opening lap.
It was a fairly uneventful race compared to the Saturday sprint with Drugovich and Verschoor pulling clear of the rest of the field.
Despite a late charge from Verschoor, Drugovich kept a 2.3s gap to take the victory and move into the lead of the standings.
Verschoor finished well clear of the second Prema of Jehan Daruvala, who recovered from outside the top 10 to finish on the podium.
The Indian racer's car was found to have a technical issue in qualifying which Prema fixed hence his return to form in the subsequent races.
Jake Hughes finished fourth ahead of Armstrong, while Hauger was sixth on the alternate strategy.
It could have been better for the reigning F3 champion had he not locked up out of the pit lane.
Ayumu Iwasa led DAMS teammate Roy Nissany in seventh and eighth.
Jack Doohan and Juri Vips rounded out the top 10.
It was another poor race for Theo Pourchaire as he retired due to another mechanical issue.
Similarly, Liam Lawson failed to make the chequered flag after a wheel wasn't fitted properly to his car at his pit stop.
