Hitech rookie Hadjar tops day two of F3 testing in Bahrain
Hitech Grand Prix rookie Isack Hadjar has set the pace on the second day of pre-season Formula 3 testing in Bahrain.
The Frenchman's time of 1m47.516s came in the morning session, beating ART Grand Prix's Victor Martins' lap by 0.086s.
Martins' initially set the pace in the first session of the day ahead of Trident's Jonny Edgar before attention turned to the longer runs.
Hadjar took to the top as the session progressed as the Red Bull junior showed impressive pace once again in Bahrain.
Hadjar led Martins and Edgar on the overall classification with Grégoire Saucy slotting into fourth in the other ART car.
After missing the opening day due to an inconclusive COVID-19 test, Juan Manuel Correa was back in action for ART, setting the fifth-quickest time on his way to fifth.
Next up was Trident's Zane Maloney in sixth ahead of MP Motorsport’s Alex Smolyar and Carlin’s Zak O’Sullivan, who made it into the top 10 for the first time in Bahrain.
Jak Crawford and Jenzer Motorsport’s William Alatalo completed the top 10, with just 0.475s separating them in the morning session.
Arthur Leclerc was 0.5s off the pace in 11th, leading Trident's Roman Stanek and MP's Caio Collet.
All of the drivers set their best times in the morning before turning their attentions to race-running as conditions got hotter throughout the day.
Martins topped the afternoon session but his best time was 0.7s off Hadjar's time from this morning.
Testing continues in Bahrain on Friday.
